Seattle / Care briefings
Where can I start in Seattle?
Begin with a health professional who can look into your health concern and explain the options.
Choose an assessment, then discuss the treatment
Start with the health concern
Write down what brought you here: a symptom, a change in health, or a treatment you have heard about. Ask how a doctor or another health professional would assess your concern before suggesting a drug.
Compare a room with a screen
For an in-person visit, ask what the health check includes and how later visits work. For an online service, ask how you will speak with the health professional and what would need a visit in person.
Find the person behind the service
Get the prescriber’s full name, licence number, and type of health work. The prescriber is the person writing your prescription. Ask who handles questions after the visit. Keep that information with your notes.
Expect a conversation that can change the plan
The Federation of State Medical Boards links US licensing boards. In May 2026, it said care is not proper if a patient picks a drug from a menu without a real health check.
These are recommendations for licensing boards. Washington’s own law sets the rules for your care.
If a service asks you to pick a drug first, ask how the prescriber will check your health before deciding on treatment. Ask what happens if that check points to another treatment, more information, or no medicine at all.
